Job Summary
We are seeking a versatile Receptionist/Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support both front-desk coordination and participant care within our research environment. The Receptionist/PCT is responsible for providing administrative support, participant-facing customer service, and basic clinical assistance consistent with protocol and facility guidelines. This position plays a key role in maintaining smooth study flow, ensuring participant comfort, and supporting research staff in daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
Participant Reception & Administrative Duties
Greet research participants, visitors, and monitors professionally
Manage participant check-in/check-out for study visits
Coordinate scheduling according to study protocols and visit windows
Answer phone calls, assist with participant inquiries, and route communication to study staff
Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with HIPAA and GCP guidelines
Assist with document preparation, filing, and EDC/EHR support as trained
Coordinate with clinical staff, study coordinators, and the research team to ensure visit readiness
Clinical & Participant Care Duties
Obtain and document vital signs, height/weight, and basic assessments per protocol and within PCT scope
Prepare and clean exam rooms and research spaces according to site SOPs
Assist with participant mobility, comfort measures, and basic care needs
Assist with sample handling or processing as trained (e.g., labeling, transport—no untrained procedures)
Support study workflow by helping move participants between visit stations (labs, exam rooms, waiting areas)
Maintain stock of clinical and office supplies; ensure clean, organized workspaces
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
Certified Patient Care Technician, Medical Assistant, CNA, EMT, or related credential (preferred)
Experience in clinical research, healthcare, or outpatient clinic settings is strongly preferred
Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, protocol-driven environment
Professionalism, reliability, and attention to detail
